We’ve all experienced the settling effect of music and especially live harp music. Now scientifically proven, the resonance of the harp interacts with human brainwaves to encourage the shift to reset to Theta and Delta waves creating a more mindful state. This does not mean you have to ‘clear your mind’. Infact, many have commented that being in the presence of therapeutic harp music, played with intention, is like a massage for your brain.

When the harp is played for therapy and creativity, it is not a ‘performance’ nor a ‘background music’ : the vibrations support those in room through molecular impact and the harpist responds in the moment.

A few reflections…

“I loved the creative writing workshop as part of the Festival of Stories. The harps were stunning, Alison was so down to earth and I loved having the time to write with this inspirational music as prompts for different aspects of writing.”

Kate, Writing Workshop Participant ( Festival)

“Thanks Ali for running the successful mindfulness and meditation sessions for our Year level as part of our Wellbeing Day. We all loved the sound of the harp - it is mesmerising! The drawing activities that you combined with each segment of mindfulness focus and the active meditation activities really engaged the students. Look forward to having you in again.” Allison, Wellbeing Day ( School)

“Thanks for running a session for us, Alison. We all felt so refreshed afterwards - the sound of the harp is like a massage for your brain. The guided meditation taking us into the forest was so calming, I didn’t want it to end!” Naomi, Mindfulness Meditation Session (Wellness Centre)
